Divisibility Formula

 Divisibility Formula  

Divisibility Formula is easy to find the factors of Larger Numbers. The Formula of Divisibility also called as Divisibility test. 

With divisibility formula we find the given number is divisible by another number, we perform actual division and see whether the remainder is zero or not. 

We will easy recall how to apply the formula for divisibility by 2, 3, 4, 5, 9 and 10 . 

But divisibility formula  given for number by any of the number 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 can be perform simply by examining the digits of the given number.

~:FORMULA'S OF THE DIVISIBILITY :~

__DIVISIBILITY OF 2__

A number in divisible by 2 when the last number will be 0 , 2 ,4 ,6 or 8 .

For an example:- 

  520, 652, 656, 958 , 754 

All number's are divisible by 2 because of the ending is 0 , 2 , 6, 8 ,4 

_DIVISIBILITY OF 3__

IF any number's digits sum will be divisible by 3 then the number will be divisible by 3 . 

For an example:-

  363 , 126 , 522 , 858

All number's are divisible by 3 because of the number's digits sum are divisible by 3 . 

363 = 3+6+3 = 12 (Divisible by 3)

126 = 1+2+6 = 9 (Divisible by 3)

522 = 5+2+2 = 9 (Divisible by 3)

858 = 8+5+8 =21 (Divisible by 3)

_DIVISIBILITY OF 4__

IF the last two digit will be divisible by 4 of the number then the total amount will be divisible by 4 . 

 

For an example:-

526472 , 4512 , 56432 

All number's are divisible by 4 because of the last digit are divisible by 4. 

526472 last 2 digit is = 72 ➗ 4 =18 (for this the total number divisible by 4)

4512 last 2 digit is = 12 ➗ 4 =3  (for this the total number divisible by 4)

56432 last 2 digit is = 32➗ 4 = 8 (for this the total number divisible by 4)

_DIVISIBILITY OF 5__

IF the last digit of the number will be 0 or 5 then the number will be divisible by 5.

For an example:-

5265 ,6520 , 45865 , 154860 

All the number are divisible by 5 because of the last digit of the number is 0 and 5 . 

_DIVISIBILITY OF 6__

When the number will be divisible with the 2 and 3 both then the number will be divisible by 6 . 

For an example:-

85248 

It is divisible by 6 because the number end is 8 for this divisible by 2 and the total of the digits , 8+5+2+4+8 = 27➗3 =9 (that is divisible by 3)

_DIVISIBILITY OF 8__

when in any number last 3 digit will be divisible by 8 and the last 3digit will be formed by the last 3 digit. 

For an example:-

  65128

It is divisible by 8 because the last 3 number is 128 that divisible by 8 that cause that total number 65128 will be divisible .

_DIVISIBILITY OF 9__

If the total digits sum  of the number divisible by 9 then the number will be divisible 9 . 

For an example:-

6516432  ,42534 , 94275

All number's are divisible by 9 because of the number's digits sum are divisible by 9 .

6516432 = 6+5+1+6+3+2 =27(Divisible by 9)

42534 = 4+2+5+3+4 =18(Divisible by 9)

94275 = 9+4+2+7+5 = 27(Divisible by 9)

_DIVISIBILITY OF 10__

If the end digit of the number is 0 then the total number will be divisible by 10.

For an example:-

6520 , 257860 , 654790

All the number will be divisible by 10 because that in every end digit have 0 digit .

Probability:- Probability  means the chances of happening/occurring of an event. So, in this chapter we discuss about the Probability of an event to happen/occur. We usually predict about many events based on certain parameters.

Probability can be used to predict the likelihood of an event occurring, and can be used to make decisions about how to best manage risk. Probability theory is a powerful tool that can be used to help us understand the world and make better decisions.

example, if you roll a dice 100 times and it lands on a 4 20 times, then the experimental probability of rolling a 4 is 20%.

For example :-

♦ Getting a head or tail, when a coin is tossed . 

♦ Getting a number from 1 to 6, when a die is rolled . 

The better we know about the parameters related to an event better will be the accuracy of the result predicted. Mathematically, we can say that probability of happening an event is equal to the ratio of number of favourable outcomes to number of possible outcomes. It is represented as shown below Probability happening of an event

 P = Number of favourable Outcomes / Total Number of possible Outcomes 

Terms Related to Probability :-

Various terms related to probability are as follows

Experiment

An action where the result is uncertain even though the all possible outcomes related to it is known in advance. This is also known as random experiment, e. g., Throwing a die, tossing a coin etc. 

Sample Space 

A sample space of an experiment is the set of all possible outcomes of that experiment. It is denoted by S. For example If we throw a die,

 then sample space S = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6} If we toss a coin, then sample space S = {Head, Tail}

Possible outcomes

All possibilities related to an event are known as possible outcomes. 

Tossing a Coin When a coin is tossed, these are two possible outcomes. 

So, we say that the probability of getting H is 1/2 or the probability of getting T is 1/2, 

Throwing a Die When a single die is thrown, there are six possible outcomes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6

The probability of  getting any one of this numbers is 1/6

Ex.1:-

 There are 5 marbles in a bag. 3 of them are red and 2 of them are blue. What is the probability that a blue marble will be picked?

 Answer :- Number of favourable outcomes = 2 (because there are 2 blue marbles) Total number of outcomes = 5 (because there are 5 marbles in total).

So required Probability is = 2/5 = 0.4 

👉 Event

 Event is the single result of an experiment, e. g., Getting a head is an event related to tossing of a coin. 

Types of Events

 Various types of events are as follows

 Certain and Impossible Events

 A certain event is certain to occur, i.e., S (sample space) is a certain event. Probability of certain event is 1, i.e., P[S) = 1. 

An impossible event has no chance of occurring, i.e., § is the impossible event. Probability of impossible event is 0, i. e., P (0) = 0.

 Ex. 2:- A teacher chooses a student at random from a class of 30 boys. What is the probability that the student chosen is a boy?

Answer:- since all the students are boys so, chosen may be any one ,

 i.e. favourable cases = Total cases = 30

 Probability = 30/30 = 1

Ex. 3:- A bag contains 20 black marbles, if a marble is picked at random from the bag. Find the probability that marble picked is of Red colour .

Answer:-. The bag contains 20 black marbles and there is no red marble in the bag

         So favourable cases = 0 Total outcomes = 20

 Required Probability = 0/20 = 0 

Equally Likely Events

 Events related to an experiment are said to be equally likely events, 

if probability of occurrence of each event is same. 

👉 For example When a dice is rolled the possible outcome of getting an odd number = possible out come of getting an even number = 3.

 So getting a even number or odd number are equally likely events.

Complement of an Event 

 The complement of an event A is the set of all outcomes in the sample space that are not included in the outcomes of event A. The complement of event A is represented by A (read as A bar).

 The probability of complement of an event can be found by subtractina the given probability from 1  

Mutually Exclusive and Exhaustive Events

♦ Two events E± and E2 related to an experiment E, having sample space S are known as mutually exclusive, if the probability of occurrence of both events simultaneously is zero.

👉 i. e.,

P(E1nE2)=Q For example When a coin is tossed either head or tail will appear. Head and tail

con not occur simultareously. Therefore occurrence of a head or a tail are two mutually exclusive events.

■f Two events E1 and E2 related to an experiment E, having sample space S are known as mutually exhaustive, if the probability of occurrence of event E1 or E2 isl.

For example Let A be probability of getting an even number when a dice is rolled and B be the

probability of getting an odd number. The probability of occurrence of event A or event B is 1

Dependent Events 

Two events are called dependent, if the outcome or occurrence of the first affects the outcome or occurrence of the second, so that the probability is changed.

Independent Events

 Two events A and B are called independent, if occurring or non-occurring of A does not affect the occurring or non-occurring of B. If A and B are independent events,

 then P (A and B) = P {AnB) = P(A)-P (B)

 For example, getting head after tossing a coin and getting a 5 on a rolling single 6-sided die are independent events.

Simple Interest :-  Simple interest is a quick and easy method of calculating the interest of the any amount in a particular time . For a normal loan and any amount deposit in bank , this mathematics normally use in banks. 

👉Like that if you give a loan to one person 100 with the interest rate of 10% for 3 year in simple interest then after the 3 you will receive the amount of 130 . that will be calculate easy by using the simple interest formulas.

FORMULA :-  I = (P*T*R)/ 100 

There, I = interest 

P = Principal Amount 

T = Time (for the how much time )

R = interest Rate 

Example :-  Raj make a deposit in bank of 1000 rupees for 3 year with a simple interest 9% . Then calculate that after 3 year how much amount will be able to withdraw by Raj ?

 (a)1230 (b)1270 (c)1250 (d)1300

Answer:-  (b)1270

Description :-   IN THIS , P = 1000 (Principal Amount )

T = 3 (Time Period )

R = 9% (Rate Of Interest )

I = ? (interest) 

There for :- I = (P * T * R) / 100

                      = (1000 * 3 * 9) / 100

                      = 270rs 

270 is the interest of the total 3 year in simple interest , That mean Raj will able to withdraw the total amount will = P + I = 1000 +270 = 1270rs 

                       

Compound Interest:-  Compound Interest that mean for a amount will receive a total amount with the interest in compound process that mean  receive the interest of the interest . 

👉Like that if you give and amount of 100 rupees to someone with the 10% compound interest for 3 year that mean for first year ta principal amount is 100 after 1 year the principle amount will be 110(principle amount + one year interest ) same also after the 2 year the principle will be 121 (new principle amount + one year interest of new principle amount ) same also after 3 year total amount will be receive by you will be 133.1rs .

 FORMULA :- A = P(1+R/100)^T

 A = Principle amount + compound interest 

P = Principle Amount 

R = Rate of interest 

T = Time period 

I = Interest = A - P

Example :- Ram take e  loan of 12000 with  12% compound interest for 3 year . after the 3 year how much amount will be paid by Ram ?

Answer :- (a)16860

Description :-  IN THIS , P = 12000 (Principal Amount )

T = 3 (Time Period )

R = 12% (Rate Of Interest )

A = ? (Principal amount + compound interest) 

There for :- A = P(1+R/100)^T

                       = 12000 (1+12/100 )^3

                       = 16859.136(Answer)

  Answer :- I = (12000 * 21)/100  [ there 21 from the table for 2years and 10% interest rate ]

                   = 2520 [that is the interest of 12000 for 2 year in compound interest ]

✅ Raj give a loan of 15000rs  to Rahim in 12% compound interest for 3 year . After 3 years how much extra amount will be paid by Rahim .

Answer :- There , P = 15000 rs 

                             R = 12%

                             T = 3 years

                             I = ? (interest amount )

                             40.49 = from the table for 12% interest rate for 3 years    

✔The interest will be , I = (P * 40.49)/ 100

                                    = (15000 *40.49) /100

                                    = 6073.5rs
